For 7 – 16 Year Olds in Stage & Screen

Fun, confidence building & performance

We encourage children to embrace their individuality. By providing a safe, nurturing environment in which students can feel supported to develop their skills in performance, we know they are able to reach their full potential. Students are split into age groups to rotate around dance, singing and acting classes.

Our all important Technique Term ensures our students are developing sound technique across all disciplines.

During this term dance classes work on flexibility, stretching and strengthening exercises as well as choreography. We introduce styles such as street dance, musical theatre, lyrical and even the Charleston. Singing classes compare pop vocals with musical theatre performance. They allow students to explore their voice and most importantly how to develop their range and vocal strength safety. Acting classes introduce our students to acting for Stage v Screen and audition technique.

The term ends with our annual Christmas Showcase and parents are invited to watch a selection of work prepared during the term.

Our Spring Term commences with the announcement of our next big performance.

Guest workshop leaders join us from the West End to introduce the next show and prepare our students for their auditions. All students are encouraged to audition for Principal roles. It’s our PSSA promise that every child has their own spotlight moment within the show.

Once the show is cast, classes take the form of rehearsals. Our Choreographers, Musical Directors and Directors work with the children to stage the musical.

It’s showtime!

Final rehearsals take place before they are combined with dress rehearsals and technical rehearsals; therefore allowing our students to gain first hand insight into the workings of a theatre and what happens behind the scenes. Performances take place in a local theatre and every student gets their chance to shine in two performances.
